Things To Do - Cusworth Hall, Museum and Park

Cusworth Hall, Museum and Park

Cusworth Hall is an imposing 18th century country house set in extensive landscaped parklands, once home to the Battie-Wrightson family. The Grade 1 listed house is deemed a site of special interest due to the preservation of all elements of a Georgian country house. It houses displays on the history of Doncaster and its people.

Following a major grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Doncaster Council, the Hall and Park have recently undergone a major refurbishment programme: roofs on the buildings have been replaced and stonework repaired. In the chapel, ceiling paintings which have not been seen for 50 years have been revealed by painstaking conservation.

Visitors can also enjoy real country fayre in Cusworth's Tea Room, amidst plenty of old world charm and character. Delicious home-baked cakes and pastries are available, as well as a range of snacks, daily specials and ice cream.

The Hall organises a year long programme of events including exhibitions, classic car rallies, open air concerts, battle re-enactments and craft and plant fairs. The Hall grounds are also the setting for the very popular Doncaster Country Fair. All events taking place at Cusworth Hall, Museum & Park appear on our events listings.
